ESG REPORT

With a steadfast commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility for more than 25 years, we are proud to be the first Greek coffee chain to publish a Sustainability Report, placing transparency and accountability at the forefront of every step we take.

Guided by transparency, respect, and empathy, we present our first ESG Report for the years 2022–2023, reflecting our commitment to ethical business practices and our meaningful contribution to Greek society and the economy.

With consistency and compliance at every level of our operations, we maintain zero incidents of corruption and regulatory violations, while actively supporting the Greek economy by paying taxes in Greece and providing more than 4,600 jobs.

By actively supporting our 390 franchise partners and consumers, we absorb the majority of inflation-driven cost increases, strengthening sustainability throughout our value chain.

By adopting innovative circular economy practices, we collaborate with Coffee Eco to recycle coffee waste and transform it into sustainable products, such as cosmetics and bioplastics.

During its first year of operation, Coffee Eco processed 50 tonnes of coffee waste from our coffee roasting facilities, corresponding to 9 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions.

Furthermore, we have incorporated 131.66 tonnes of recycled packaging materials into our operations, further reducing our environmental footprint. In parallel, we continue to invest in photovoltaic installations, achieving coverage of 50% of the energy requirements of our headquarters and 64% of those of our manufacturing facility in the Patras Industrial Area (B.I.PE. Patras).

Our dedication to people and communities extends nationwide, through the support of social grocery stores, food aid structures, as well as educational, sporting, and cultural initiatives.

Furthermore, with a strong focus on the development and empowerment of our people, we invest continuously in professional growth, delivering 110,080 training hours to baristas, 6,080 training hours to employees, and 4,200 training hours to franchisees.

We work closely with 26 farms in 12 countries, contributing to the economic empowerment of local producers while fostering responsible and sustainable farming practices.

By connecting coffee procurement from selected farms with sustainability initiatives, we collaborate with Water to Thrive on the construction of a water well in Ethiopia’s Sidama region, providing access to clean drinking water for 500 people.

Furthermore, we support the women farmers of Gisanga Farm in Rwanda, helping secure stable and sustainable livelihoods for them.

Through our vertically integrated production facilities, we ensure product quality by adhering to ISO 22000 and Halal certification standards. In addition, we recently obtained certification for organic production and the labelling of organic products.

Throughout the 2021–2023 reporting period, we maintained zero incidents of non-compliance, underscoring our unwavering commitment to product safety, quality, and responsible business practices.
