COFFEE ISLAND SUPPORTS THE “WOMEN SAY NO 2 VIOLENCE” PROGRAM.
21 stores across Greece are becoming Safe Places, offering information, guidance, and a first refuge for any woman at risk

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Coffee Island joins its voice with Immortaliting and the Association of Women’s Associations Members of Heraklion & Heraklion Prefecture to send a clear message:
No woman is alone. No form of violence is acceptable.
Coffee Island aims not only to spread this message, but also to empower every woman who experiences or fears violence. To inform her, support her, and contribute to the creation of a broader nationwide network of Safe Places, where every woman can feel safe, be heard, and be guided to the appropriate support services.

Already, 21 Coffee Island stores across Greece are actively participating in the Safe Places network. They bear a special sign, provide discreet informational material, and their teams take part in basic training for the sensitive role they are called upon to fulfill, so that they can stand beside every woman seeking help with discretion, respect, and humanity.
As part of the initiative, an online webinar was held for Coffee Island employees and focal points. Participants were introduced to the organizations, the work, and the philosophy of the program, while at the same time being informed about what gender-based violence means, how it manifests, and how we can recognize and address it both in the workplace and in everyday life.

Additionally, on November 25 and 26, volunteers from the organizations will be present at selected stores in Crete to speak with the public, answer questions, and provide useful information to both women and men. Similar actions will also take place in Athens and Patras, so that the message against gender-based violence and in support of women’s empowerment can reach even more local communities.

The actions will continue throughout 2026, with the aim of spreading the message of preventing gender-based violence even further. Through the continuously expanding support network, every woman will be able to find a first safe point, a human connection, and a space of trust, where she will feel respected, heard, and supported.
Coffee Island has a voice and chooses to unite it with the voices of women who say “no” to gender-based violence.
